Wills Trust and Probate

The total cost for obtaining the probate is approximately £2000–£4000 plus VAT which will depend upon the nature of the issues to hand.

My hourly charge out rates are currently £200 per hour plus VAT and this increases every April.

I will be carrying out the work and I am a qualified solicitor since 1993.

There will be a fee payable to the Government when applying for probate or grants of letters of administration which will vary from time to time.

These are called disbursements which do not attract VAT.

I shall apply for probate on your behalf, which may take in excess of three weeks. If you are an executor, the grants of probate will be sent to you. I will assist you in the collation of assets and debts in respect of the estate, and to distribute any legacies under the will. The timescales in respect of the grants of probate are in excess of three weeks and on occasions may take in excess of ten weeks.
